Why Counting Stars Exists:
Families of children with disabilities often face barriers to services, limited opportunities for inclusion, and the feeling that their child is being left on the sidelines of experiences that others take for granted. We knew families deserved more than that—and so did their children.
Counting Stars was founded on the belief that every child deserves the opportunity to learn, grow, build meaningful relationships, and fully participate in their community. We believe inclusion goes beyond providing services; it means creating opportunities for individuals of all abilities to be seen, valued, welcomed, and celebrated.
Through individualized, wraparound supports provided in the center, home, and community, we help children build skills, confidence, and independence while supporting the families who walk alongside them. At the same time, we strive to create meaningful connections between the individuals we serve and the communities in which they live, helping build a world that is more understanding, accepting, and inclusive for everyone.
Because everyone deserves a place to belong—and a community where they can truly participate, contribute, and thrive.
